A chicken processing plant in Steuben County suspended production Monday as it awaits the results of employees who were tested for COVID-19.

Our partners at WPTA-TV report Miller Poultry, based in Orland had six of its employees test positive for the coronavirus.

Miller Poultry employs more than 1,000 people.

The plant told the TV station the closure was done “as a precautionary measure to protect our employees and communities.”
