Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann and Quebec’s minister of international relations are set to take part in today’s announcement.
The announcement is set for this afternoon at 2:15 Central at the Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor in Portage. Burns Harbor is part of the overall momentum of the ports. The port says 2014 shipments topped 2013 totals by around 25 percent.
A U.S. Department of Commerce report released early this year showed 2014 merchandise exports from Indiana reached a record level of $35.5 billion. That report also suggested Indiana exports supported about 166,000 jobs in 2013.
