EasyDial, which makes portable hemodialysis machines, has broken ground on a more than $21 million production facility in Chesterton, which it says will result in nearly 100 new jobs.
The company says the new facility will be equipped to produce 1.3 million units by 2020 for patients throughout the United States. It expects to begin Porter County operations in 2018.
EasyDial has five U.S. facilities as well as a production operation in Trento, Italy and a research center in Naples, Italy. The company plans to hire for administrative, warehousing, assembling and injection molding operator positions beginning next year.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Renato Girodano says the company chose Indiana "because of its economic advantages, employee resource pool and geographical location."
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered EasyDial up to $1 million in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans. The town of Chesterton is also supporting the project.
