Phoenix provides systems and technology that translate paper-based documents into electronic systems and computer files.
The company says 16 technicians employed by Phoenix will remain on the Pollux staff. Pollux provides revenue cycle management, medical billing and consulting to the health care industry.
"Phoenix has had a rich tradition and long term success in offering its markets sophisticated software systems and optimal document management performance," said Paul McGowan, chief executive officer of Pollux. "The Phoenix acquisition fits squarely into our strategy of providing our markets with a one-stop solution integrating state of the art technology with advanced expertise."
Pollux Technology Division President Jeff McGowan says the acquisition furthers the company’s strategy of not only service clients in the health care industry but in other sectors, including financial institutions, school systems and government agencies.
The acquisition comes less than three years after Pollux acquired another document management and technology company. Pollux acquired Newburgh-based Documents 2 Digital LLC in 2013.
