In the next Agbioscience podcast presented by AgriNovus Indiana, IEDC Senior Vice President of Global Investments, Andrea Richter-Garry, explains what impact the GES might have on Indiana.
“What makes Indiana kind of a unique platform as a state to host this is we were doers. We make things. We grow things. We build things. And that office authenticity is so important to show that we’re action oriented. So yes, this conference is going to be about discussing but it’s also going to be about doing,” explained Richter-Garry to podcast host and AgriNovus Chief Executive Officer Mitch Frazier.
She says 28 nations will send delegations to the summit. Organizers limited attendees to 800 to the event, which IEDC says is “sold out.”
The summit was delayed two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Richter-Garry says the global healthcare crisis served as an impetus to adjust the focus of the summit.
“Coming out of this post COVID world, it became more apparent that challenges are truly global. We are interconnected, whether we want to be or not,” said Richter-Garry. “So the idea was, how do we kind of capitalize on this opportunity after such a tough few years, and bring together a global partners to tackle these challenges together?”
The summit begins Thursday with two days of panel discussions and meetings. The event is capped off Sunday as the dignitaries were invited to attend the Indianapolis 500.
