Regional President Connie Bond Stuart signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve this morning during a ceremony in Indianapolis.
The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, an office of the Department of Defense, took part in the ceremony.
"We’re proud to have reinforced this initiative today in a joint effort with our state ESRG partners," Stuart said in a statement from PNC. "PNC Bank is committed to attract and retain talented military veterans which is ultimately good for PNC’s business and for the Hoosier workforce of today and tomorrow."
ESGR Indiana area chair Ken Smith said, "It is important that we recognize the commitment that PNC Bank is making in signing a Statement of Support. Anytime we can support a service member or family member, it is extremely rewarding for all of us at ESGR."
As part of the statement of support, PNC pledged its managers and supervisors "will have the tools they need to effectively manage those employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve." The company is also pledging to "continually recognize and support" service members and their families in times of war, peace and crisis.
