West Lafayette-based Bioanalytical Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: BASI) announced that Wendy Perrow has been elected to its board of directors. Perrow is president and chief executive officer at Alba Therapeutics, a Maryland-based biopharmaceutical company.

The addition of Perrow to the BASi board of directors brings the total number of directors to seven. Perrow joined Alba Therapeutics in 2008 as vice president of business development, marketing and alliance management. She was named president and chief operating officer in 2011 and named CEO in 2013.

"We are delighted that Ms. Perrow has joined our board," said Dr. John B. Landis, chairman of the board for BASi. "Her strong background in both the biotech and pharmaceutical industries will prove particularly valuable as we continue to focus on strategies that drive our top-line growth."

BASi was founded in 1974 and is headquartered in West Lafayette. It provides contract research services and monitoring instruments to pharmaceutical development and medical research companies.
