In this role, he will oversee the firm’s editorial process, which includes developing and editing textbooks and other course materials used by partner universities. Thurston has more than 18 years of experience in publishing higher education textbooks and instructional content. He previously served as a freelance development editor by working with authors, publishers and other clients to edit and format tens of thousands of pages, as well as hours of videos in educational materials. This included assisting in the creation of nearly a hundred lessons for the International Baccalaureate program on topics such as history, mathematics and business.
Prior to that, Thurston spent more than 15 years at Pearson Education working as a production and development editor. In these roles, he assisted in the creation of hundreds of books, videos and educational materials for both print and web. In addition, Thurston oversaw various project teams including authors and technical writers throughout the editorial process. He also aided in the signing of several books, which included establishing relationships with new authors and peer reviewers.
Thurston graduated from Indiana University in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
