PepsiCo to close Muncie plant, cites distribution changes

PepsiCo said it would work with local leadership, unions and others for the transition at the plant, located at 2901 N. Walnut St.
“PepsiCo is always evaluating our network solutions and reviewing the best possible ways to optimize our service,” the statement read. “With many recent distribution changes, we have determined that in the coming months, PepsiCo Beverages North America’s operations in Muncie, Indiana will close and be redistributed to neighboring locations.”
PepsiCo did not state whether jobs at the plant would be cut or relocated. A specific number of jobs at the plant was also not given.
