Pence Begins Japanese Mission

Subscribe NowGovernor Mike Pence has begun his latest economic development mission in Japan by attending the Midwest U.S.-Japan Association Conference joint governors meeting. Pence’s meetings today include Honda Motor Co. and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
Pence attended the 2014 conference in Iowa and the 2013 in Iowa. He says Indiana has the largest state delegation at the conference. Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts and Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch are also attending this year’s conference.
The governor’s plans for today also include a dinner reception at the conference and a meeting with Hitachi Ltd. about its Smart City technology.
The state says more than 250 Japanese businesses have operations in Indiana, accounting for more than 52,000 jobs.
