The partnership is through IHCDA’s CreatINg Places program.
The co-op wants to create a 6,000 square foot coworking space to rehearse, record and produce music. The Indianapolis Music Cooperative would be located at the Circle City Industrial Complex.
Indy Music Co-op must raise $50,000 by November 3 in order to receive a matching grant from IHCDA.
“Making professional music space affordable is a dream come true for us,” said Kyle McGinnis, founder of the IMC. “We’ve designed and tested this membership model with immense community support over the past three years and we are thrilled to bring this economic engine to life for the Indianapolis music community.”
The CreatINg Places program began in 2016. The IHCDA says projects have raised more than $5.4 million in public funds and an additional $4.4 million in matching IHCDA funds.
