Community Health Network says the four-bed unit is the result of a $350,000 investment. The PICU will be staffed by pediatric critical care physicians through a partnership with Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.
Community Vice President of Women’s Services Donetta Gee-Weiler says the new unit "brings care to patients who otherwise might have to go out of state. We can now extend the care of a children’s hospital without having to build one."
The PICU is located within the pediatric unit of Community North.
