Opera Star to Perform Before Indy 500

She joins singers including Bebe Rexha and Jim Cornelison in pre-race performances.
Brown gained fame in the opera world after debuting at the Metropolitan Opera in the title role of "Aida." She has performed around the world in venues including Lincoln Center, Paris Opera, Vienna State Opera, Shanghai World Expo and the Moscow Performing Arts Center.
Locally, Brown has performed with the Indianapolis Symphony at the Yuletide pops event and the Indianapolis Opera. She attended the Indiana University School of Music and received the Indiana University African American Arts Institute’s inaugural Herman C. Hudson Alumni Award in 2006. She calls the Indy 500 opportunity "truly a dream come true."
Singer/songwriter Bebe Rexha will perform the national anthem ahead of Sunday’s race, following the performance of "Back Home Again in Indiana" by Chicago Blackhawks performer and Indiana University graduate Jim Cornelison.
