The opening celebration of Exhibit Columbus will take place Saturday at multiple sites throughout the Bartholomew County city. The event, billed as an annual exhibition of architecture, art, design and community, involves 18 art installations and runs through November 26.

The highest-profile works are the inaugural winners of the Miller Prize, five installations in all, that were created by artists from outside the state. Honorees were announced in January and include:

• "Wiikiaami" by Chris Cornelius of studio:indigenous in Milwaukee, which was created for the First Christian Church site
• "Conversation Plinth" by Yugon Kim and Tomomi Itakura of IKD in Boston, which was created for the Cleo Rogers Memorial Library site
• "Untitled" by Dwayne Oyler and Jenny Wu of Oyler Wu Collaborative in Los Angeles, which was created for the Irwin Conference Center
• "Anything can happen in the woods" by Joyce Hsiang and Bimal Mendis of Plan B Architecture & Urbanism in New Haven, Connecticut for the Cummins Corporate Office Building
• "Another Circle" by Benjamin Aranda and Chris Lasch of ArandaLasch in New York and Tucson, which was created for Mill Race Park

Several warm-up events have taken place Thursday and Friday. Saturday’s activities include:

• 8:30 am – 2:00 pm – Architect’s Newspaper Opening Conversations – Cleo Rogers Memorial Library Red Room
• 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm – Exhibition Opening Celebration – 5th Street to Mill Race Park – it will feature remarks from the Exhibit Columbus team, Miller Prize winners and Washington Street Installation designers, as well as live entertainment from the Circle City Stompers
• 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm – Mill Race Park 25th Anniversary Celebration – Includes a free concert with Lily and Madeleine, the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s mobile ARTx unit with a lego build, beer from Upland Brewing
• Starting at 5:30 pm – Miller House and Garden Champagne Tours – tickets available through the Columbus Area Visitors Center
