Indiana House Speaker Todd Huston, R-Fishers, announced his picks Thursday to chair House committees in the 2025 legislative session. All are Republicans and all but one are returning from last year.
The sole new face is Rep. Jake Teshka of North Liberty who will lead the Financial Institutions Committee. Teshka is vice president of business development at Majority Builders Inc. in South Bend. He worked from 2019-2021 as a business development officer at Interra Credit Union in Goshen.
The committee’s previous chair, Rep. Mike Speedy of Indianapolis, did not seek reelection.
In addition to Teshka, these are the committees and chairs for next session:

- Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development, Rep. Bob Morris of Fort Wayne
- Courts and Criminal Code, Rep. Wendy McNamara of Evansville

- Government and Regulatory Reform, Rep. Doug Miller of Elkhart
- Insurance, Rep. Martin Carbaugh of Fort Wayne
- Judiciary, Rep. Chris Jeter of Fishers
