One Candidate Vying to Complete Ober’s Term

David Abbott has filed to finish out the remaining months of State Representative David Ober’s (R-82) term. Ober was selected last month by Governor Eric Holcomb to fill a commissioner vacancy on the five-member Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. He succeeded Jim Atterholt, who retired.
Abbott, from Rome City, will be introduced and give a short speech before a caucus presided over by Indiana Republican Party officials holds a vote. The caucus will meet at 7 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Albion. The 82nd District includes parts of Allen, Elkhart, LaGrange, Noble and Whitley counties. The statewide organization will stream the process live on its Facebook page.
