The School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI says it will provide scholarships to participants of the academy.
“By focusing on our mission to provide a STEM-aligned classroom curriculum with on-track performance and fun, NXG has been able to reach more than 1,200 Indianapolis girls and boys during our 15-year history,” President and co-founder Rod Reid said. “This new partnership with the School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI will further enrich our participants’ understanding of the opportunities in motorsports engineering and represents tangible opportunities for their educational growth.”
IUPUI says the motorsports engineering program offers students an engineering degree.
“We are thrilled to form this relationship with NXG and create additional opportunities for underserved youth in the greater Indianapolis region to experience the excitement offered by a STEM career,” said David Russomanno, dean of the School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI. “With NXG’s well-established pipeline program and our world-class offerings in motorsports engineering, this is the perfect opportunity to advance shared goals.”
Scholarships include the NXG-Youth Program Scholarship, which provides a $2,000 freshman scholarship to former participants who have completed three academy classes, and the NXG-Grand Prix Scholarship, which provides a $2,000 freshman scholarship to academy participants who have completed at least one full season of the NXG Grand Prix Championship Series.
