The alliance says it is partnering with the city of Noblesville and Noblesville Schools for seed funding and administrative support.
“Noblesville is fortunate to have many successful youth sports groups,” said Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen. “Through conversations with many residents and stakeholders, it became apparent that a unified coordinating and marketing structure would help sustain gains made to date and enhance our overall position going forward.”
The alliance has appointed David Leyda to serve as its executive director. A Noblesville resident for 24 years, the alliance says Leyda has been involved with youth sports and community service organizations for several years. Leyda is director of customer success for Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) and has served on the Noblesville Youth Baseball board since 2014.
The organizations joining the alliance include: Noblesville Girls Basketball, Noblesville Babe Ruth Baseball, Noblesville Youth Lacrosse, Noblesville Wrestling Club, Body in Training – Track, Body in Training – Cross Country, Miller Basketball Academy, Noblesville Girls Softball Association, Noblesville Elementary Football League, Noblesville United Soccer Club, White River Sports, Noblesville Swim Club, Noblesville Boys Volleyball Club, Miller Backers, and Noblesville Youth Baseball.
“Noblesville Schools is thrilled to stand alongside and assist the Noblesville Youth Sports Alliance,” said Dr. David Mundy, associate superintendent. “The city and schools work with these organizations on a regular basis, and they are instrumental to the success of our students at the high school level. Taking the next step to launch a strategic partnership framework will positively impact the community on several levels.”
The alliance says its board will identify priorities, including development of a “one-stop shop” website for youth sports offerings and registration. Additional efforts will include marketing and outreach, as well as planning for future field and court needs.
