Noble County EDC launches employment grants

Be Noble Inc. received the $5,000 in funds to provide the Workplace Preparedness micro-grants through a contribution from the Don Wood Foundation. The program is a part of ‘Ignite Your Future,’ a funding initiative of the Community Foundation of Noble County.
Those eligible for the grants are local learners enrolled in or recent graduates of a workforce certification program and degree graduates from within the last year to gain or retain employment.
Grant money can only be used for purchasing equipment and supplies required to do the job they have trained for and their employers do not cover. This could include steel-toe boots, welding helmets and gloves, stethoscopes, scrubs, and specialty maintenance tools.
Applications are due Feb. 16.
