NiSource Provides Update on Sustainable Energy Goals

The company says it is on pace to be 100% coal free by “rebalancing” its energy mix by between 2026-28. The power company claims it has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 63% and is on track to reduce it by 90% by 2030.
“People must be at the center of any effort aimed at shifting to a greener, more sustainable energy supply, which is a central focus of the 2021 NiSource Climate Report and a core principle that guides our shared path forward,” said NiSource President and Chief Executive Officer Joe Hamrock.
In recent years, the company has invested heavily in wind and solar power technology. It says by next year, it will have added 3,300 megawatts of renewable energy.
