While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Newpoint Services says the expansion will double operations and grow capabilities.
Newpoint Chief Executive Officer John Sutton says the company plans to double the operational staff in Columbus with the goal of hiring at least a dozen people this year.
Globe Vice President Gary Griffith is planning to retire. Newpoint says all Globe employees will retain their roles.
“The addition of Globe’s business to Newpoint Services is an ideal marriage of two companies who are both squarely focused on helping our clients look their best. Much like Globe’s superb reputation in Ohio, Newpoint is relied upon by leading commercial developers, hoteliers, and universities in Indiana and Texas to provide commercial cleaning services,” said Brian George, president of Newpoint. “Globe already has an excellent reputation in the city and an impressive client list. Their longstanding history of being the leading contractor in the market is what really got our attention, as we seek to expand not only their current operations but add in all of our other services to help clients in Columbus.”
Sutton says the acquisition will allow it to begin offering medium and high-rise window cleaning.
