Newburgh technology company breaks ground on new HQ

Matrix Design Group LLC broke ground Thursday on an $11 million headquarters facility, a project that is expected to result in 150 new jobs over the next five years.
Matrix provides a variety of technology products for the industrial and mining sectors, including collision avoidance systems, data analytics platforms, and atmospheric monitoring systems.
The 40,000-square-foot facility will include a state-of-the-art product testing lab, new training facilities for employees, customers and distributors, and expanded office space.
President Mark Watson said the new facility will foster new opportunities for the company.
“We are excited to expand our existing presence in Newburgh and, in the process, enable our growth internationally,” Watson said in a news release. “With this groundbreaking, we are building upon our company’s past success while growing to meet the needs of the customers and industries who benefit from our technologies.”
Matrix currently employs 189 people around the world. Construction on the new headquarters building is slated for completion in January 2025.
