Kindred has signed an agreement with Caesars Entertainment that would provide Kindred with market access in Indiana and Iowa for online gaming and online sports betting. In Indiana, Kindred would partner with Caesars’ Horseshoe Hammond, which does not offer an online sportsbook.
“Caesars’ geographical spread in the US gives us a unique opportunity to build our footprint, with Indiana and Iowa next in line and potentially other states lined up,” said Manuel Stan, senior vice president of Kindred US.
The Indiana Gaming Commission this week released the monthly tally of sports betting in the state. Horseshoe Hammond does not currently have an online sportsbook, but it still had the third-highest total of sports wagering in the state. Analysts say that’s because of its proximity to Chicago.
The agreement provides Kindred access to pursue licensing in Indiana over a ten-year period.
“As Caesars Entertainment continues to gain state approvals for legalized sports betting in the US, we look forward to adding Kindred to our list of sports betting partners in certain states,” said Christian Stuart, executive vice president for Caesars Entertainment
Caesars also owns Indiana Grand Casino, Hoosier Park, and Caesars Southern Indiana, but this agreement is specifically geared towards the casino in Hammond.
Kindred wants to operate both an online sportsbook and online gaming for Caesars, pending regulatory approval.
