The Eva Kor Peace Garden will recognize the longtime Terre Haute resident’s global message of peace, healing and forgiveness. Kor is founder of the CANDLES Museum in Terre Haute, which will be relocated to the former First Financial Corp. (Nasdaq: THFF) as part of an arrangement with Indiana Landmarks announced in June.
Monday’s dedication ceremony included Indiana First Lady Janet Holcomb and Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett. Some 500 local school children were also on hand at the Toby Theater at Newfields to watch "Eva," a new documentary on the life and mission of Eva Kor. The film is a production of WFYI Public Television in Indianapolis, Ted Green Films and Mika Brown.
Kor is a two-time Sagamore of the Wabash honoree and she recently received Indiana’s highest civilian honor, the Sachem Award.
