The utility’s Arlington, Virginia-based parent, AES Corp., announced Tuesday that Ken Zagzebski will become president and CEO of AES Indiana and chairman of the AES Indiana Board.
Zagzebski has worked for AES since 2007, serving as CEO from 2011 to 2014 and as interim CEO from July 2015 to June 2016. Most recently, he was chief operating officer of AES’ U.S. Renewables business.
He will also lead the utility’s sister operation, AES Ohio, headquartered in Dayton.
“I am rejoining AES Indiana at a time where there is tremendous opportunity ahead of us to serve our customers in more personalized, reliable and sustainable ways,” Zagzebski said in a news release. “While I’ve worked in AES markets across the country, Indiana has remained my home. I look forward to working alongside our team to meet our customers’ expectations as we accelerate the energy transition happening here in our state.”
Zagzebski succeeds Kristina Lund, whose departure from the company was announced in July. AES Indiana has seen five presidents in the last eight years. Lund held her leadership role for nearly three years.
Zagzebski will also take on the title of senior vice president of AES Corp.
AES’ chief financial officer Ahmed Pasha was named acting CEO following Lund’s departure. Pasha will continue with the company as CFO of U.S. Utilities, AES officials said.
