New CEO for United Way Northwest Indiana

Subscribe NowUnited Way Northwest Indiana has selected Chris White to serve as the organization’s new CEO, our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana reported this week. White is a former board member and chairman of the Lake Area United Way.
White is also the former publisher of The Times, a role he held for a decade until 2023. He has also held leadership roles at other nonprofits, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana and the Salvation Army.
United Way Board Chair Marisa Smoljan said in a statement to The Times that White is the ideal leader for the organization at a critical time in its growth.
“His track record of collaboration, innovation and dedication to meaningful change aligns perfectly with our mission,” Smoljan said. “We are confident that under his leadership, the organization will continue to expand its impact and build a stronger, more resilient future for our region.”
United Way Northwest Indiana is headquartered in Valparaiso and serves Lake, Porter, Jasper, Newton and Starke counties.
