New Automation Business Touts ‘No-Shoring’ Potential

Ascension believes Agilify will compete in a market that could swell to more than $2 billion in a few years. The company sprouted from robotic-process automation work at the Ascension Ministry Service Center in Marion County over the last seven years and has grown to more than 60 employees.
In an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Agilify President Ed Hawkins believes the business — and its presence throughout the state and beyond — will grow in a big way. "Our expectation is that this business will grow to be in the neighborhood of $60-$70 million and we feel strongly that — with the initial intelligent automation being the foundation — we will see things like machine learning and artificial intelligence being the add-on businesses to this. But we’ll grow as the technology changes and evolves with becoming more and more complex in our services. And I expect our organization to grow and the jobs in Indianapolis to grow as a result of that," Hawkins said.
So far, Hawkins says some 20 "blue chip" companies have already reached out to Agilify for training through an academy it has set up. It offers mentoring and certification testing, as well as consulting on implementation and strategy of automation. Agilify says its services make processes more efficient and boost productivity so its customers can "take off-shoring of manual, repetitive tasks to no-shoring."
St. Louis-based Ascension employs thousands throughout the state as the parent of Agilify and St. Vincent. It is considered the world’s largest Catholic health system.
