New Apartments Near Notre Dame Under Consideration

A Pennsylvania-based luxury home and apartment builder is eyeing an 11-acre piece of property just east of the University of Notre Dame. The South Bend Tribune reports Toll Brothers Inc. (NYSE: TOL) plans to invest $100 million to demolish an existing 193-unit complex and replace it with a 328-unit apartment community.
The current complex, Campus View, is within walking distance of the campus and sports facilities.
The publication says city officials still need to review final plans for the project, but that should not cause too much of a delay because the developer has been working closely with the city for several months.
The proposed complex would include a variety of three-story buildings that would offer a mix of studios and one- to four-bedroom units, in addition to a parking garage for residents.
