The company has acquired three locations from Colorado-based American Medical Response (AMR), including one in New Albany.
The deal, financial terms for which are not being disclosed, also includes locations in Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky.
“We’re thrilled to bring AmeriPro’s innovative last-mile services to Lexington, Louisville and New Albany,” AmeriPro CEO Suhas Uppalapati said in written remarks. “We aim to provide members of these communities – and blue-chip institutional partners such as UK HealthCare and UofL Health, along with other local hospitals, health plans and employers – with unmatched patient health services.”
AmeriPro did not state how many employees the New Albany location has, but said the company is actively hiring and adding more positions at all three locations.
The company also plans to establish a school in the region to expand educational opportunities and invite more candidates into the workforce.
AmeriPro was established in 2018 with 10 ambulances in the Metro Atlanta area and has grown to more than 800 employees across six states. The company provides 911 emergency medical services, critical care transport, and mobile integrated health care, among other services.
The acquisition comes less than a year after AMR scaled back operations in central Indiana, eliminating an undisclosed number of jobs in Indianapolis. AMR still has operations in Evansville.
