National FFA Organization awarded $850K gift

Subscribe NowFertilizer manufacturer Nutrien Ag Solutions is donating nearly $850,000 over three years to the Indianapolis-based National FFA Organization to support its effort in shaping future agricultural leaders.
The annual amounts of $282,500 will support FFA members in competitive events, assist advisers in their professional development and provide $10,000 scholarships to national FFA officers at the end of their year of service, the organization said. The funds also will support alumni chapter grants.
“Nutrien Ag Solutions has been a proud sponsor of the National FFA Organization for 45 years, and we are excited to continue our support for this integral organization for agricultural education,” Spencer Harris, senior vice president at the Loveland, Colorado-based company, said in a news release. “As an FFA alumni, I am excited to be part of this investment that will help give students the same opportunities that shaped my career in agriculture today.”
The National FFA Organization is a school-based national youth leadership development organization that helps prepare students for careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture. Its national convention is set for Oct. 23-26 in Indianapolis.

Nutrien Ag Solutions is the retail division of Canada-based Nutrien, a provider of seeds, fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides and other crop services.
