Developers RTM Ventures says Fort Wayne-based Three Rivers Music Theatre has signed a letter of intent to locate its expanding operations to the mixed-use innovation district.
The organization will use the new space for rehearsal, performance and education, including its Triple Threat Performance Arts Academy. Three Rivers Music Theatre develops locally-cast musical theater performances and plans to stage all productions at Electric Works.
Andy Planck, executive artistic director at Three Rivers Music Theatre, says the new space will allow the organization to continue to produce theater with a voice that would otherwise be unrepresented in the community.
"The vibrancy at Electric Works aligns well with our vision and our role in growing and strengthening the arts community in Fort Wayne and northeast Indiana," Planck said. "We knew we would not be able to sustain our current location, and we’ve grown beyond our capacity, which is a good thing to have happen. Our goal, in lockstep with Arts United’s Platform for Cultural Advancement, is to make Fort Wayne a national arts destination, empowered by our presence at Electric Works."
Jeff Kingsbury with RTM Ventures says adding a mix of creative ventures such as Three Rivers Music Theatre will "spark exciting opportunities" for Electric Works.
