MUNCIE, Ind. – The Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Muncie announced on Friday, June 21 the selection of Micah Maxwell as their new Executive Director and Chief Professional Officer beginning July 1, 2013
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we look forward to having someone with Micah’s passion and expertise lead and drive our organization, said Doug Bishop, President.
Maxwell, a Muncie native, has spent over a decade in the non-profit sector, serving most recently as an independent consultant in corporate and non-profit leadership while also serving as an infantry officer in the Indiana National Guard. He also has served as a field representative for the Indiana Youth Institute and Executive Director for the Roy C. Buley Center.
“I am humbled to have the opportunity to lead an organization that has positively impacted the lives of Delaware County youth for 80 years,” Maxwell said. “As an alumnus of the Club, I know first-hand the difference this organization makes through its staff, volunteers and members.”
Bishop also said that Yolanda Bonner, who has been serving as Interim Executive Director, will resume her position as Program Director. “The Board of Directors would also like to thank Yolanda and the staff for their hard work during the time of transition at the Club,” he said.
The Boys and Girls Club of Muncie was founded in 1933. A Boys & Girls Club provides a safe place to learn and grow, ongoing relationships with caring and adult professionals, life-enhancing and character development experiences and hope and opportunity.
