More Vendors Announced For Bottleworks Food Hall

Subscribe NowThe developers of the $300 million Bottleworks District on Mass Ave in downtown Indianapolis have announced new vendors for The Garage food hall. Hendricks Commercial Properties says the new tenants will add to the local flavor of the food hall, which is part of the first phase of the 12-acre project.
Poke Guru and Lick Ice Cream will join the lineup at the 30,000-square-foot food hall, which HCP Chief Executive Officer Rob Gerbitz says is expected to open in April 2020. The companies have operated in or near downtown Indy since 2018 and 2010, respectively. The food hall will serve as the second locations for each company.
In an interview that will air this weekend on Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick, Gerbitz said the local aspect of the vendors at the food hall is a key part of the effort.
"That’s how we’ve really been working through this whole process is that it is staying with the local," said Gerbitz. "That’s what we like. That’s where we think we can get that authenticity. We can also be true to the community. We may find a regional aspect of a user at times but by and large, we want to stay pretty local and for a lot of the groups we’re looking at right now and that we’ve signed up already, they’re actually all local."
Currently located at City Market, Poke Guru offers traditional poke bowls and plans to introduce an Asian-fusion style to each offering at the new location. They also plan to offer alcoholic beverages at the food hall.
Lick Ice Cream says its new location in the food hall will feature its ice cream made from scratch only with natural, locally-sourced flavors. Co-owners Meredith Kong and Kelly Ryan currently operate from their first location at the Circle City Industrial Complex, not far from the Bottleworks District, which will continue to operate primarily as a wholesale shop.
Poke Guru and Lick Ice Cream join a growing lineup of food vendors at The Garage food hall, including Simply Divine Cupcakes, Blu Point Oyster Bar, La Chinita Poblana, and The Tartine Station. Other vendors who will be located in the food hall include Daredevil Brewing Co., Square Cat Vinyl, Pins Mechanical and Brick & Mortar barber shop.
The Garage portion of Bottleworks is comprised of three buildings. Two of the buildings are being combined to house the food hall, while the third will serve as the home of Living Room Theater, which will feature multiple screens to show local, independent and international films in a European-style cafe setting. Gerbitz said the theater portion is expected to open in the summer of 2020.
