Wine Spectator magazine named 19 Indiana restaurants in its 2023 Restaurant Awards.
The annual program recognizes restaurants based exclusively on their wine service. Awardees are given one of three designations — the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award, with the later being Wine Spectator’s highest honor.
Among Indiana’s 19 recognized restaurants, 15 were given the Award of Excellence and four received the Best Award of Excellence. Those honorees include Joseph Decuis of Roanoke, LaSalle Grill of South Bend, Peterson’s Restaurant in Fishers and The Wine Gallery at Villa Macri in Granger.
More than 3,500 restaurants across the country were recognized in the Restaurant Awards list, which comes in tandem with Wine Spectator magazine’s annual Restaurant Awards issue.
The magazine recognized dining destinations across 50 states and 70 countries. Of those, 93 received the top Grand Award, 1,411 were given the Best of Award of Excellence and 2,001 were honored with the Award of Excellence.
“In a time of technological innovation, restaurants offer the human experience diners are hungry for—listening to their customers and offering personalized experience,” Wine Spectator Editor and Publisher Marvin R. Shanken said in a news release. “This annual issue celebrates the places where wine is at the top of that conversation. I’m pleased to congratulate all 3,505 restaurants for their dedication to wine and wine-loving diners.”
