Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report Illinois-based The Missner Group plans to acquire two parcels of land totaling more than 70 acres for speculative industrial buildings.
Eddie Adler with The Missner Group told the town’s plan commission the firm plans to close on the properties in the third quarter. The real estate development firm plans to build an 803,000-square-food building on a 45-acre property and a 355,000-square-foot building on a 26-acre parcel, according to the publication.
“So that 71 acres is all property that we currently control and would plan on breaking ground and building next year,” Adler told the commission.
Adler says the firm could potentially merge the two buildings into one if a tenant needed a 1 million-square-foot building or the 26-acre property could house two separate buildings if multiple users came forward.
The Missner Group still needs the properties to be rezoned from agricultural to industrial. The Times reports the commission could consider the change at its next meeting on July 20.
