Indianapolis-based nonprofit The Milk Bank is opening a new depot next week at the Kosciusko County Woman, Infants and Children office in Warsaw. The organization is the only one of its kind in the state.
The Milk Bank says the new presence in Warsaw will allow approved donors to drop off their milk in the Kosciusko County center, where it will be transported to Indianapolis for pasteurization, then distributed throughout Indiana and the Midwest.
The organization now has 45 drop-off centers throughout the Midwest
The Milk Bank Executive Director Janice O’Rourke says "we are thrilled to open a milk depot to welcome more Indiana mothers to our mission. When more mothers are aware of how easy the milk donation process is and how they can be a part of our life saving missing, more infants will benefit."
The organization is formerly known as the Indiana Mothers’ Milk Bank.
