Merrillville Hoops Star to Open Youth Training Facility

Subscribe NowA former Merrillville High School basketball star, professional player, and northwest Indiana business owner is set to open a new youth basketball training facility in Crown Point. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report Courtside by dlux, owned by TJ Lux, will welcome its first guests next month.
The facility will provide training, instruction, team development and Amateur Athletic Union play, according to the publication. Open to boys and girls between third and eighth grades, the facility will also offer development camps and memberships.
“Courtside is an old-school gym that provides top level, personalized instruction utilizing state-of-the-art training tools and experienced instructors,” the business said in a news release. “They will provide skills camps and developmental leagues, with measurable results while reminding their players each to ‘Get Better, Be Great.'”
Lux led Merrillville High School to the state championship game in 1995 and played professionally in Europe for six years. He is a former head coach at Merrillville and currently serves as assistant boys varsity coach at Crown Point High School. He also owns and operates The Exercise Coach personal training facilities in Crown Point and Dyer.
