Mercury Marine to open global distribution center in Brownsburg

Subscribe NowWisconsin-based boat engine maker Mercury Marine will Wednesday join officials from the town of Brownsburg to celebrate the opening of a 512,000-square-foot distribution center. The marine manufacturer, a division of Brunswick Corp. (NYSE: BC), says the new location will create approximately 250 jobs and serve as the company’s global distribution center.
The warehouse is the first facility to open in the Ronald Reagan Logistics Center near Interstate 74. The company told Inside INdiana Business its distribution center in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin will be converted into manufacturing space.
Mercury Marine provides engines, boats, services and parts for recreational, commercial and government marine applications.
The company says it selected Indiana because of its strategic location to improve delivery and service to Mercury’s global customers and reduce logistics costs.
