The Missouri-based internet service provider has purchased five acres of property on Industrial Boulevard to build a 12,000-square-foot facility with office and warehouse space and plans to add about 30 jobs.
Mercury will seek a tax abatement from the city for its planned development, according to the city.
“Mercury will be creating high-quality employment opportunities in the growing tech sector, while increasing connectivity options for residents and businesses in this region of Indiana,” said Crawfordsville Mayor Todd Barton in a news release. “We’ve worked hard to attract Mercury to our community, and the types of jobs created by this investment fit perfectly within our strategy to further diversify the types of employment opportunities available locally.”
Construction is estimated to start in mid-2024. The company said it will open a temporary center during construction, and customers can purchase services starting next year during the first and second quarters.
Mayor Barton will appear on this weekend’s edition of Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick to talk about other major investments being made in the city.
