Despite the move, officials say the company will maintain its manufacturing presence in Indiana with plans for continued investment in the Hoosier State.
A spokesperson for MasterBrand told Inside INdiana Business the move stems from the company’s spinoff from Illinois-based Fortune Brands Innovations Inc. in December 2022, when it became an independent, publicly traded company.
“We were without a location to house corporate functions required as a standalone public company,” the spokesperson said in an email to IIB. “Following a review of several sites, the Greater Cleveland Area was chosen for the corporate headquarters because of its central location, access to key customers and to tap a wider pool of talent.”
MasterBrand said in a news release that the northeast Ohio region offers strong logistics “with a solid core transportation infrastructure.” The company cited a lower cost of doing business and strong investments in innovation that made the area a good choice for its corporate headquarters.
Despite the move of its corporate headquarters, MasterBrand said its operations headquarters, which houses its manufacturing leadership, product development and marketing teams, will remain in Jasper.
The company employs 3,300 people across its Indiana footprint, and the spokesperson said there will be “no net change in employees based in Indiana” with the opening of the new corporate headquarters.
MasterBrand operates more than 20 manufacturing facilities in North America, including six in Goshen, Huntingburg, Jasper and Ferdinand in Indiana.
