Indianapolis-based Marsh Supermarkets says it will close seven stores next month. A spokesman for the grocery chain says the "very difficult decision" is due to sustained weak performance.

The following seven locations are set to close May 14:

6243 E. Washington St., Indianapolis
5104 N. Franklin, Indianapolis
7481 Shadeland, Indianapolis
2021 E. Wabash, Frankfort
824 N. Third St., Logansport
731 E. Elm, Union City, Ohio
218 W. Lincoln, Portland

In an email to our partners at WTHR-TV in Indianapolis, the spokesman says Marsh is working with associates who want to remain the the company to find them positions at other locations.
