This hotel will be operated by Indianapolis-based General Hotels Corp. The company acknowledges opening a hotel during the pandemic, when the tourism and travel industries have been severely hampered, was not ideal timing.
“However, these projects take quite some time from conception of the deal to completion of construction, so we have to deal with the unexpected,” said Jim Dora, president and chief executive officer of General Hotels Corp. “Indianapolis is set for a strong second half of the year as we come through the other side of this pandemic. We are focused and ready to serve our customers!”
Marriott says this brand tends to cater to travelers looking for longer stays as it offers studio and one-bedroom suites with fully-equipped kitchens.
