WHAT
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences, home to the first medical school to open in Indiana in more than a century. A private tour for members of the media, led by Dr. Paul Evans, dean of the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine, begins at 5:00pm. A public ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 6:00pm, followed by public tours of the Evans Center.
WHERE
The Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences on the campus of Marian University, 3200 Cold Spring Road, Indianapolis. The Evans Center is located at the intersection of 30th Street and Cold Spring Road.
WHY
To mark the opening of Indiana’s first new medical school in more than a century. Classes officially begin for the 162 students in the inaugural class on Aug. 12, 2013.
