Subscribe NowMarathon Health, which is co-headquartered in Vermont and Indianapolis, has launched what it says is a first-of-its-kind virtual primary care service. The company says Marathon Health Anywhere allows employers to provide advanced primary care for employees, regardless of where they live.
As part of the service, patients will be able to see the same care team members during each visit, including physicians, registered nurse health coaches and behavioral health counselors. It also provides medical equipment kits for patients to use during their virtual appointments, including a blood pressure cuff and digital scale.
“Attracting and retaining top talent is the No. 1 priority for today’s employers,” Dr. Jeff Wells, co-founder and chief executive officer of Marathon Health, said in a news release. “One way to do that is by leading with culture, supported by a total rewards package including access to convenient, high value primary care. Until today, remote workforces were unable to benefit from valuable employee health centers.”
Marathon Health says during virtual visits, they will not have to log their readings as everything will be automatically uploaded to the company’s system.
Last month, the health provider announced it was expanding into seven new markets, including Atlanta, Salt Lake City and Phoenix.
