The Indianapolis-based organization provides employers with onsite, network and virtual primary-care clinics. The center in Richmond and two additional network locations slated to open in the greater Richmond area in the coming months mark the expansion of the company into Virginia.
The clinics will provide access to primary care, preventive care, chronic disease management, health coaching, labs, medication management and referral coordination, the company said in a news release. Occupational health and behavioral health services will also be available at select locations.
The locations will provide services to the more than 3,300 city of Richmond employees and their families as well as to employers in the surrounding area who are members of the Marathon Health network, the news release said.
Marathon Health serves more than 1.2 million members at 300 health centers in 43 states.
In August, the company announced the acquisition of Cerner Workforce Health Solutions based in Kansas City, Missouri. The acquisition increased Marathon’s membership by nearly a third.
The company’s employer-sponsored primary care model aims to control health care spending by providing clinics onsite or nearby to the employers the company serves.
