Ohio-based 20/20 Custom Molded Plastics LLC has announced plans to locate to the Bluffton facility that previously housed an operation of another Ohio company, Buckhorn Inc., creating up to 155 jobs by 2020. Buckhorn announced earlier this year it would pull out of the facility before the start of this month as part of a consolidation effort. 20/20 Custom Molded Plastics says it will pump over $27 million into the acquisition and outfitting of the 170,000 square-foot Well County facility.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says 20/20 Molded Plastics has hired many former Buckhorn workers in Bluffton. Current openings at the facility include press operators, forklift drivers, molding supervisors, setup specialists and maintenance professionals. Owner David Rupp says "20/20 started molding structural foam parts for customers in 2000 and has increased its customer base and molding capabilities on a consistent basis year after year. We are excited about expanding our manufacturing operations to the Bluffton community and look forward to growing our business with the help of community and business leaders and an outstanding workforce."
20/20 Custom Molded Plastics has been offered nearly $900,000 in conditional tax credits and training grants from the IEDC. An additional incentive package could be considered by the city of Bluffton.
