AISIN Drivetrain Inc. intends to create nearly 50 jobs this year.
ADI Executive Vice President Scott Shade calls Crothersville "an ideal site" for the company." He adds the area has "easy access to Interstate 65 and its close proximity to major cities. This allows ADI to work closely with its customers." The company is a supplier for manufacturing of Toyota Avalon and Lexus ES models, which are built in Georgetown, Kentucky.
ADI produces industrial and commercial transmissions and power steering columns. The investment will cover renovations and new equipment related to design changes from its customers. More than 380 workers are currently located at the plant in the Crothersville Industrial Park and its parent employs a total of almost 4,000 Hoosiers. The new manufacturing positions are expected to be hired on by August. In addition to ADI and Aisin Chemical in Crothersville, Japan-based parent company Aisin Seiki has units operating in Indiana in communities including Seymour, Tell City, Terre Haute, Franklin and Rushville. ADI has invested close to $80 million into Indiana operations over the last decade.
ADI has been offered up to $425,000 in conditional tax credits from the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
