The two-year agreement with the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas involves managing event, e-commerce and wholesale business.
A previous deal between CODA and MainGate ended in 2014. CODA Chief Strategy Officer Jason Rittenberry says "MainGate did a great job launching our brand. And over the past year, it became very apparent that MainGate was the partner we needed to continue our growth and lead our retail efforts."
MainGate will manage retail during the MotoGP Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas, Lone Star Le Mans and Formula 1 United States Grand Prix races, as well as oversee development of an on-site retail outlet. The agreement also calls for MainGate to re-launch COTAstore.com and facilitate nationwide retail wholesale opportunities.
MainGate Chief Executive Officer Dave Moroknek says "to put it simply, it’s great to have COTA back with us. “We’ve had fantastic discussions with them regarding the future of their retail brand and the opportunities that are ahead of us both on-site and online."
MainGate’s current portfolio of partners includes three NFL teams, the Indiana Pacers, PGA of America, NCAA and NHRA. It has also been retail partner for three Super Bowls and currently employs more than 300 full-time and part-time workers.
