The cost of the deal was not disclosed for confidentiality reasons, a company spokesperson told Inside INdiana Business.
It’s the Kentucky-based company’s second acquisition in the past year, and the deal will expand its offering through the new addition of the American Olean and Marazzi product lines.
The company said the acquisition, along with the recent closure of the Daltile showroom, positions the company as a leading ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tile distributor in the South Bend region.
Louisville Tile added 23 employees from American Olean to bring its headcount to 290. The company said some administrative positions in Chicago were eliminated.
“The integration of American Olean Midwest aligns perfectly with our growth strategy, enabling us to provide an unmatched level of service and product variety to our customers and clients in South Bend,” Louisville Tile CEO Matthew Saltzman said in a news release.
The company said South Bend customers can expect more more tile options for a diverse set of architectural and design preferences.
Louisville Tile has a market footprint in nine states with 17 branches, adding Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin to its existing footprint in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee and Ohio.
