The federally qualified health center said during Wrobel’s tenure, the organization has significantly grown its footprint across northern Indiana.
When Wrobel took the helm in 2002, HealthLinc was a single, free medical clinic. Now, the health center has 12 clinics, two school-based telehealth clinics, one mobile medical and dental clinic, and more than 450 employees.
Wrobel also led the creation of two full-service pharmacies under the HealthLinc RX brand, with more locations planned.
“It has been an honor to work with such a dynamic force,” Kristi Figg, long-time board member and former HealthLinc board chair,” said in written remarks. “Beth’s commitment to the mission of creating healthy communities is rooted in compassion and a deep belief that everyone has a right to quality health care. She is an amazing leader and has positioned HealthLinc for success well into the future.”
HealthLinc provides primary medical, pediatric, obstetrics, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, medical-legal partnership and community outreach services throughout their clinics. Some locations also offer optometry, chiropractic and podiatry services.
The organization’s board of directors has tapped Maryland-based executive search firm The Meyers Group to assist in the search for Wrobel’s successor.
Board Chairman Chris Atherton said funding HealthLinc’s next leader will be a challenge.
“Beth has a depth of knowledge and experience in the healthcare industry that is not easily replaced,” Atherton said. “Balancing limited budgets and federal guidelines with the ever-changing and expanding need for health care is a daunting task and one that Beth has done successfully for over 21 years.”
